Cook Off | Reynolds and Reynolds

The 2021 Cookoff will be Saturday, October 16th.

Food Safety
  • All food, utensils, and service articles must be protected from contamination during storage, preparation, display, and service.
  • All food contact surfaces must be clean and sanitized as necessary.
  • No smoking is allowed in or around your food preparation and cooking area.
  • All food should be kept a minimum of 6 inches above the ground.
  • The Cook-Off is a no-animals event. Please leave all pets/animals at home. At no time are pets allowed in the booth or near the food areas.
  • Cooks and participants must thoroughly wash their hands with soap and water and/or sanitizer before starting food preparation, during cooking as often as necessary to keep them clean, after smoking, eating, or drinking, and after using the restroom. Hand sanitizer will be provided to each team.
  • Potentially hazardous foods must be maintained at safe temperatures (41°F or less, or 135°F or greater), throughout the entire cook-off. Keep your perishables in a cooler of ice and have a heat source, such as propane to keep your cooked food hot.
  • Cook-Off teams should provide multiple sets of utensils to be changed out in case of contamination.
  • No bare hand contact with food is allowed. Hand washing facilities are available in the Hollister buildings. A box of Food Service gloves will be provided to each team.
  • All food-handling personnel shall maintain a high degree of personal cleanliness by wearing clean outer garments and hair restraints (cap, hat, or hair net) if necessary.
  • All food must be covered when not in use to protect from customer handling, coughing, sneezing, or other contamination.
  • All personal belongings must be stored away from food, equipment, utensils, etc.
  • No persons shall be allowed to work in situations in which they could contaminate food if they have signs or symptoms of gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea or vomiting) or obvious infections of the skin, or signs or symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections (sore throat or nasal congestion other than from allergies).
